About Flinders University Student Association (FUSA)
We are the student representative body at Flinders University, governed by a council of elected students and funded by the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). About the Role
As the Media and Communications Assistant, you will contribute to innovative student engagement through a wide range of media and communication strategies. This includes supporting FUSA's promotional and online activities through graphic design, editing content for digital and print media, and assisting with the maintenance of FUSA's websites and social media channels. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your creative and communication skills within a vibrant, student-focused environment.
As the Media and Communications Assistant, you will also:
- Provide support to the Communications and Media team on a range of communication and graphic design projects to support the communication and media strategies of FUSA.
- Support the Communications and Media team in the production of promotional material and the general application of FUSA's brand by establishing graphic design solutions that can be used across FUSA, including posters, pamphlets, and stationery.
- Assist with copy writing, editing, and reviewing a range of student association communications.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will be a reliable, adaptable, and approachable team player, who is passionate about supporting students. You will foster a positive culture and thrive on working in a team environment as well as independently. You will have some basic experience in creative or graphic design and social media, with experience in Adobe Products such as Photoshop or InDesign being highly regarded.
As the successful Media and Communications Assistant, you will also demonstrate:
- Completion of a diploma level qualification with relevant work related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and/or training in a design or media related field.
- Experience working on graphic design and print projects including routine to general knowledge of up-to-date design standards, work-flow procedures, and production stages.
- Experience and knowledge of production software applications including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
