The Marketing and Communications Officer position is a Full-Time 2 year fixed position.

The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.

Our primary role is to be the ‘health voice’ for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.

Summary of the Role

The Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for supporting efforts to enhance AHCSA's visibility as the peak body for Aboriginal community-controlled health services in South Australia, and for promoting the goals, achievements, and work of the Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health (ACCH) sector through the creation of culturally appropriate, accurate, and impactful communications.

The position assists in developing and implementing communication strategies in collaboration with Member Services, key partners, and other stakeholders. These strategies effectively convey information to both internal and external audiences about AHCSA’s work, the ACCH sector, and key issues affecting the sector. The Communications Officer provides specialist communications advice and technical assistance to AHCSA and Member Services staff to support the production of engaging content for various platforms and materials that align with the sector’s values and objectives, and manages day-to-day communications tasks.

Additionally, the Marketing and Communications Officer advises and assists with producing content for reports, newsletters, and responding to media enquiries, ensuring consistency and alignment with the broader ACCH sector's communication goals. The position ensures that AHCSA’s voice is clear and unified, key messages reach the right audiences, and the organisation’s communications continue to promote the role and work of Aboriginal community-controlled health services and the ACCH sector more broadly.
