The Role
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the virtual face of our clinic, providing vital support to both patients and the healthcare team from the comfort of your home. You will manage the day-to-day administrative operations, ensuring that every patient receives a seamless and positive telehealth experience. This role will grow as the clinic expands, offering professional development and career progression opportunities in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Reception Duties: Welcome patients virtually with professionalism and empathy via phone, email, or video, ensuring a positive first impression.
Appointment Management: Answer phone calls, schedule telehealth appointments, and manage the clinic’s online booking system efficiently.
Administrative Support: Process patient information, maintain accurate digital medical records, and manage correspondence.
Billing and Payments: Handle private health billing, and process payments in compliance with healthcare standards.
Team Support: Assist healthcare professionals with administrative needs and contribute to maintaining a collaborative remote environment.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant healthcare regulations, including Medicare and MBS guidelines.
Clinic Operations: Assist in organising digital workflows, supporting telehealth platforms, and addressing patient inquiries promptly.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role in a healthcare setting is preferred, with familiarity in telehealth environments a plus.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a remote setting.
Familiarity with medical practice software, such as Helix, or a willingness to learn, along with proficiency in telehealth tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, online scheduling systems).
Understanding of Medicare billing processes and general healthcare administration.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support patients virtually and work effectively with a distributed healthcare team.
A commitment to holistic healthcare and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
Reliable home office setup with high-speed internet, a quiet workspace, and comfort working independently from home.
Availability
Ideally 4 days per week (Monday - Thursday) from 9am - 5pm however this is flexible and open to discussion for the right person.
