Your new company

A high-profile federal government department is seeking skilled APS5 and APS6 HR case managers to join its performance and wellbeing area. These roles have been created to support a team restructure and manage an increased volume of work across rehabilitation and performance case management.
The preference is for APS employees seeking a section 26 transfer at this level, or on higher duties. The term is 12 months with no extension option due to the surge workforce nature of the roles.

Your new role

You will join a collaborative, fast-paced HR team delivering early intervention, rehabilitation case management, and performance support services. You'll be engaged in either rehabilitation case management or performance and conduct support, depending on your experience and interests. These roles require strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage sensitive and complex HR matters.

APS5: Key responsibilities

• Support rehabilitation or performance case management processes
• Coordinate return-to-work plans and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Respond to employee enquiries and provide HR advice
• Prepare documentation, reports, and correspondence
• Conduct research and contribute to policy development
• Maintain accurate records and support compliance
• Assist with project planning and delivery of people and culture initiatives

APS6: Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex rehabilitation or performance cases
• Provide expert advice to managers and executives on sensitive HR matters
• Interpret legislation and policy to guide decision-making
• Prepare executive briefings, case summaries, and strategic communications
• Coach and mentor junior team members
• Engage with stakeholders to drive outcomes and support cultural change
• Contribute to strategic HR planning and continuous improvement initiatives
