Victoria Street Coordinator
Location: Victoria Street, Richmond
Position Type: 2 day per week for 1 year
Contract Period: February 2025 – June 2026
Reports To: VSBA President
Role Summary
The Street Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the vitality of Victoria Street, Richmond through business engagement, precinct activation, and community event delivery. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with experience in business development, project management, and event coordination. You will lead initiatives that foster trader collaboration, promote cultural diversity, and increase foot traffic, ultimately positioning Victoria Street as a thriving community and business hub.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Precinct Activation
Lead and deliver the multicultural trader project through active consultation with traders and key stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with local businesses to support collaboration and co-create new experiences, services, and offerings.
Promote Victoria Street's identity and vibrancy by developing promotional campaigns and storytelling content that highlight trader successes and community culture.
Review and update association policies and strategic plans to support continued improvement.
Manage the special levy, including stakeholder consultation, feasibility analysis, and implementation for long-term precinct sustainability.
Festival & Event Management
Plan, coordinate, and deliver key events such as the Lunar Festival, Moon Lantern Festival.
Engage local traders, artists, and performers to develop diverse and inclusive festival programs.
Oversee event logistics, including permits, compliance, contractor coordination, and on-the-day management.
Assist & Secure sponsorships, grants, and in-kind support to fund and elevate events.
Promote events through coordinated marketing, social media, press outreach, and community partnerships.
Evaluate post-event success and provide insights for future improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in precinct management, business development, or high-street activation.
Minimum 3 years' experience in precinct management, business development, or high-street activation
Demonstrated success in planning and delivering public events or community festivals.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially across multicultural communities.
Strong organizational and time management abilities with a hands-on approach.
Relevant qualifications in business, marketing, communications, or event management preferred.
Understanding of local government processes and regulatory compliance.
Speaking Vietnamese is an advantage but not essential.
