452 Flinders Street
Full time, 12-month fixed-term
V/Line is delivering more projects than ever before across regional Victoria and we're looking for a detail-oriented and rail-savvy professional to help coordinate safe access to our network during these works.
As Project Network Access Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting project and occupation teams to plan and secure safe access to the V/Line network.
You'll be the person who keeps track of critical access documentation, ensures alignment with the master schedule, and helps navigate the operational nuances of Victoria's regional rail network.
This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity that offers exposure to every corner of the business. It is a strong platform for future growth within V/Line or the broader rail sector.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinating and administering the Notice of Intent (NOI) system, including safety-critical access documentation such as Absolute Occupations (SWO Circulars) and Train Operating Notices (TONs)
- Supporting project teams and third parties in navigating access and occupation requirements on the V/Line network
- Reviewing access and occupation requests to ensure alignment with the V/Line Master Schedule and operational constraints
- Identifying and escalating potential conflicts or overlaps in planned access
- Representing Network Planning at internal and external access coordination meetings
- Participating in the weekly Access & Occupations meeting, including preparation of agenda, minutes, and action follow-up
- Supporting project interfaces with other Accredited Rail Operators (AROs) where access impacts occur
- Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of V/Line's operational access systems and processes
- Progressing skills and network understanding under the mentorship of the Senior Network Access Specialist
- Attending site visits and collaborating closely with Network Development, Asset Management, and other key teams across V/Line
About you
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Excellent admin and coordination skills: You can manage complex documents and shifting timelines
- A solid foundation in rail operations: You might not know every detail of the V/Line network yet, but you understand how the rail environment works
- Great communication and stakeholder skills: You are able to interpret technical information and help others understand it
- A willingness to learn: Whether you've come from a contractor background or within the rail sector, you'll be supported to grow your knowledge on the job
Experience in planning, scheduling, rail occupations, or infrastructure coordination will set you up for success. Your ability to interpret, manage and align multiple streams of information will be key.
What we offer
- Opportunity to contribute to once-in-a-generation infrastructure projects
- Real-world exposure to the operational heartbeat of regional rail
- A collaborative and knowledgeable team that will support your development
- Access to V/Line's free myki travel, discounted gym memberships, and professional development opportunities
This is a great opportunity to bring your rail knowledge into a fast-paced projects environment and get a great view to what's next.
