Key Account Manager – Construction & Building Materials (Greater Melbourne)
Hybrid role with occasional travel to Northern Suburbs branch

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Key Account Manager to service key building contractors across Greater Melbourne. This is a hybrid role based in Melbourne, with occasional travel to the branch in the Northern Suburbs.
You’ll play a critical role in winning new business, managing existing high-value accounts, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing sales culture. You’ll have the autonomy to grow your territory while working closely with estimating, production, and delivery teams to ensure best-in-class service.
About the Products:You’ll represent a trusted Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel reinforcement products including:
- Reinforcing mesh
- Reinforcing bar (rebar)
- Prefabricated reinforcing cages
- Trench mesh and ligatures
- Accessories such as bar chairs, tie wire, and spacers
These products are used in residential, commercial, and civil construction applications, supporting foundations, slabs, beams, columns, footpaths, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, with a strong focus on customer retention and expansion
- Identify new business opportunities, generate leads, and convert prospects into long-term clients
- Review technical drawings and construction plans to prepare accurate estimates and quotes
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate production schedules, delivery timelines, and customer-specific requirements
- Maintain a strong and active sales pipeline through structured call cycles and reporting
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement in product and service offerings
- Represent the company professionally in client meetings and industry event
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in steel reinforcing, construction, concrete, or building materials is highly regarded
- Strong B2B sales and account management experience, ideally within the trades or construction space
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (preferred)
- High level of commercial acumen, resilience, and adaptability
- Proven ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team-based culture
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel occasionally within Melbourne
