The Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club; established in 1897, located on the banks of the Swan River in Dalkeith, boasts a wealth of tradition in the fine sport of yachting. With more than 1,200 members and fondly known as "the family friendly club on the Swan", we are seeking a mature, friendly, technology savvy, multi-tasking person to take on the critical role of Membership Officer.
Working in a friendly, family environment, reporting to the General Manager, the Membership Officer is an integral part of the operations of the Club. You must be a team player, working with a small team in an intimate environment to produce quality and timely results.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall administration of the Membership portfolio of the Yacht Club. The role of the Membership Officer is broken down into three key areas:
- Membership Administration;
- Sail and Powerboat Administration; and
- Office Administration.
The duties and responsibilities of these three key areas are outlined below.
KEY DUTIES/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Update and maintain membership forms and members booklets;
- Liaise with members and all membership inquiries;
- Attract and sign up new members;
- Update and maintain membership database;
- Conduct interviews with new members;
- Invoice membership fees and charges;
- Allocate vessels to appropriate pens;
- Liaise with governing bodies and affiliated clubs;
- Develop, nurture and maintain positive relationships with Members;
- Provide monthly Membership and Marina Reports;
- Coordinate all on-water Club activities;
- Develop and implement new strategies to increase member participation;
- Responsible for the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of monthly performance against budget;
- Maintain all Corporate Governance policies and procedures of the club;
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of and experience with Boats & Boating essential;
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, such as word, excel, powerpoint essential;
- Previous experience working in a Club environment will be highly regarded;
- Previous experience and knowledge of Marina Focus and Micropower databases is advantageous but not essential;
- Knowledge of boat length, beam and draft advantageous.
