As Cafe Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operations working in our flagship 120 seat cafe, you will be leading a dynamic team, ensuring smooth daily service, and delivering an outstanding experience for every guest. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves developing people, and understands the details that keep a high-volume café running at its best. You will be provided with on the ground training from other managers within the business as well as training and mentoring from our Retail Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Customer experience
Maintain high standards of customer service, presentation, and food and coffee quality.
Staff Management:
Lead, motivate, and support the front and back-of-house team to consistently deliver excellent service.
Provide feedback
Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive team environment.
Oversee ongoing staff training and conduct regular performance reviews.
Operational
Hiring & Rostering, manage recruitment, onboarding, and create efficient rosters to balance team needs and labour targets.
Training & Reviews, oversee ongoing staff training and conduct regular performance reviews.
Manage ordering systems and minimize food waste. Combining with Inventory Management
Menu Rollout, coordinate monthly menu updates with kitchen and service staff.
Labour Management, monitor and manage labour costs in line with business targets.
Process Improvement, identify and implement improvements for greater operational efficiency.
Regulatory Compliance, ensure all health, safety, and food hygiene standards are consistently met.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar venue management role in a high-volume café or restaurant.
Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team.
Customer-Focused: A customer-first attitude with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflicts efficiently.
Financial Acumen: Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and cost control.
Knowledge of Regulations: Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, and the ability to enforce them effectively.
Passion for Hospitality: A genuine love for the hospitality industry and a desire to provide top-quality customer service.
Self-Awareness: A proactive attitude with the ability to reflect on personal performance and continually strive for improvement.
