Join us as an Operational Support Administrator, internally known as an Operational Support Specialist, and amplify your impact. This is a permanent opportunity, and will be based at our Gympie depot.
Your Opportunity
Working within the Corporate Support team as the Operational Support Administrator, you will provide business support functions to various departments across Energy Queensland and the network business. Your general administrative skills will be key to Energy Queensland’s continued success and growth.
Based at our Gympie depot, you will support works across the state. Day to day, you will:
- Deliver routine and non-routine administrative support including some corporate card management and purchasing, booking travel, actioning work orders, and minor external billing.
- Generate reports and manage cost allocations for items such as fleet and non-network functions. You will analyse data and make recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Work autonomously and manage conflicting priorities whilst working through a high volume of work.
- Successfully manage stakeholder relationships – you will communicate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver business support services.
With either a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the bottom of the salary band starts from $106,109 for 9 days and $122,555 for 10 days + 14.75% superannuation.

What You’ll Bring
You will either hold a Cert IV in Business Administration or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.
You can demonstrate experience completing general administrative duties such as processing corporate card transactions, purchasing, monitoring, sweeping and assigning web work orders, Booking travel and Fleet servicing.
You have the ability to learn EQL’s:
- Policies, procedures, and practices, so you can accurately inform and advise stakeholders.
- Core corporate financial, administration, reporting systems and databases. Here, we use Ellipse and SAP. Demonstrating your ability to use multiple systems and platforms is highly advantageous.
Transferrable and soft skills you’ll bring with you include:
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain productive and cooperative working relationships. You’re not afraid to pick up the phone and speak with someone if required.
- Well-developed organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines and schedules.
- High attention to detail, proven problem solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
