About the role

As the Junior Sous Chef at Drifters Wharf, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our customers. This full-time position will be based in our Gosford NSW 2250 location.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and workflow
  • Participating in menu planning and development to keep our offerings fresh and innovative
  • Supervising and training kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and food hygiene regulations
  • Managing inventory, ordering supplies and monitoring food costs
  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment in the kitchen

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
  • Formal culinary training or qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations and budgeting
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate and develop a kitchen team
  • Passion for creating innovative, high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
