We are looking for a self-motivated, caring and reliable individual to join our close-knit and cohesive team of 5 psychologists and 2 admin staff. We have a lovely staff culture and pride ourselves on having a fun place to work. Applicants should be looking for a position 3-4 days a week, typical to work in around study in the field of psychology, social work or mental health. Could also suit someone looking for a full-time position who already has experience who would want to grow into a practice manager position and hold down a longer term position. Experience or strong interest in the mental health field is very important as you will be dealing with people with mental health and cognitive issues. These roles are usually taken by recent graduates in psychology, or people completing their psychology degree part-time.
Main responsibilities
Welcoming patients, in person or on the phone, as well as answering inquiries via phone or email
Intaking new patients according to established protocols and ensuring patient information is accurate, including billing information
Maintaining the diaries of the psychologists
Taking payments and doing end of day payment reconciliations
Maintaining practice inventory by checking stock of psychological tools and stationary; anticipating needed supplies; placing orders for supplies
Send out psychological questionnaires to patients, their families and their teachers and make sure that all questionnaires are completed prior to their appointments.
Protecting patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information
Completing other clerical duties, as assigned
Skills and experience
Digital literacy essential (Microsoft Word & Outlook etc.) – training will be provided for use of our clinical software specifically
Demonstrated knowledge of general administration and clerical duties
Excellent communication skills
Strong customer service skills – approachable and friendly
High-level organisational and time management skills
Attention to detail, confidentiality and professionalism
Must be motivated to learn about a wide variety of psychological disorders, and how we assess and treat them,
Salary and start date
$33-$38 per hour, plus superannuation
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia, be permanent citizens, and should be available 3-4 days a week, Monday-Friday, 9-5pm. Happy to consider the right applicant for full-time if they want a longer term role just beyond study.
Start ASAP, preferably in 2 weeks for training, but by the latest by 18th August.
