The Municipal Association of Victoria’s (MAV) vision is to be a nation-leading organisation for the Victorian local government sector in strategic foresight, policy and research, leadership and governance, service design, and advocacy impact.

Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced and energetic Events Program Design and Delivery Lead to take the reins of our dynamic event calendar, bringing our vision to life through conferences, networking events, training forums and sector-shaping flagship programs. As our new Events Lead, you’ll be the creative force and operational brain behind MAV’s event program. This means:

Designing and delivering high-quality events aligned with our strategic goals.

Leading logistics end-to-end from venues and speakers to budgets and contracts.

Growing audience reach across metro, regional and digital platforms.

Bringing sponsors, stakeholders and partners into the fold.

Collaborating across MAV to ensure events amplify our research, advocacy and communications work.

Key Responsibilities

As the Events Program Design and Delivery Lead your key responsibilities will include:

Event Planning and Delivery: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan, deliver, and evaluate events.

Event Management: Administer the event management system, manage registrations, and coordinate all event logistics.

Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and suppliers to ensure seamless event execution.

Marketing and Promotion: Partner with the MAV communications team to promote events and design marketing materials.

Budget Management: Monitor and manage event budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery.

Evaluation: Assess event outcomes through feedback surveys, focus groups, and other evaluation tools.

This role is located at 1 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne, adjacent to Parliament Gardens. We offer a welcoming, healthy, and inclusive workplace and a hybrid model of working from the office and working from home.
