The Role
As an APS 6 Logistics Officer working in the GWEO Group within the Department of Defence, you will be working with some of the most exciting and complex guided weapons and explosive ordnance products used by the Australian Defence Force.
Every day will be different as you embrace opportunities to:
- Manage complex guided weapons and explosive ordnance products, and lead high-performing integrated teams to deliver capability to the ADF;
- Manage fleet of explosive ordnance using integrated logistic support concepts and methodologies;
- Apply risk management principles in daily operations. Contribute to effective management of sustainment budget;
- Prepare, provide input and present briefs and reports to stakeholders.
- Develop logistics support concepts and plans to support GWEO manufacturing capability delivery.
- Manage logistics considerations and ensure adequate planning for successful project execution.

- Creative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach;
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
Our Ideal APS 6 ILS Practitioner (Sustainment) candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:
- Experience in performing a variety of activities and plans related to Integrated Logistic Support and related disciplines, that support the sustainment and acquisition aspects of materiel logistics;
- Experience in implementing and ensuring compliance with policy, processes and procedures that support the acquisition and sustainment of equipment in accordance with Defence requirements.
- Ability to generate responses to complex correspondence, briefs and reports for higher delegate consideration. Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders at the operational and business unit level;
- Work effectively under broad direction with established priorities and methodologies;
- Creative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach;
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
