The Role
As an APS 6 Engineering Professional / Senior Technical Officer - Explosive Ordnance working in the Manufacturing Division within Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Group, you will be given the unique opportunity to work within a diverse team to deliver Australian Defence Force systems that are at the leading edge of Defence Capability.
- Develop engineering documentation, review engineering design, and deliver engineering specifications on behalf of Defence.
- Perform a broad range of engineering management activities at a high standard to support the Directorate of Engineering and
- Use your excellent research, negotiation and presentation skills to oversee a team who manages high profile, complex projects.
- You will need experience in complex multi-vendor environments with the ability to manage and integrate input from external industry partners.

Our Ideal Candidate
As an APS 6 Engineering Professional / Senior Technical Officers - Explosive Ordnance, you will be accountable, under broad direction, to perform and achieve complex tasks to meet the GWEO Group objectives.
We are seeking experienced candidates to join our growing team who:
- Demonstrate effective leadership and mentoring to integrated teams, promoting collaborations, and a shared commitment to achieving outcomes.
- Provides reliable support to complex engineering activities, upholding integrity while contributing to a positive and cohesive team culture.
- Exercise both initiative and sound professional judgment in applying the appropriate professional practices and procedures as required.
- Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills in managing stakeholder engagement will be highly desirable for ensuring your stakeholders are intelligently informed in relation to difficult issues.
- GWEO engineers and technical officers will be required to be able to work under pressure with great resilience, focused to goals and possess strong attention to detail. It is essential that the candidates have proven leadership ability and possess strong people skills.
