The Role

We are seeking an APS 6 Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Officer who is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex materiel logistics tasks within an integrated workforce. The successful applicant will have knowledge of legislative and compliance frameworks, experience in logistics support and be able to interpret Defence’s mission and policy requirements. The role requires a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and liaison with stakeholders in relation to complex issues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work independently with reasonable autonomy in supporting logistics sustainment activities as well as contributing to strategic logistics planning, capability enhancement and project management.
  • Exercise initiative and judgment in the interpretation of health and logistics policy, technical regulatory frameworks through the application of practices and procedures and detailed reporting.
  • Identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve Defences health logistics outcomes for the enterprise and individual work units.

About our Team

The Joint Health Command Pharmacy and Logistics team is a busy organisation working to Director General Operational Health within Operational Health Branch. The team have wide ranging responsibilities for the provision of health materiel within Defence to ensure that healthcare is delivered across garrison health and deployed settings in the Maritime, land and Aerospace domains. The team are called on to deliver operational effects, provide high quality advice and support to Defence Health Senior Leadership.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in a related/relevant field such as logistics, supply chain, business, fleet and asset management, providing customer and stakeholder driven outcomes and provide complex logistics reports.
  • Experience working in and/or providing support to Integrated Logistics Support management and legislative frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail, demonstrated high level planning, organisational and time management skills and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Confident communication skills and ability to be collaborative, agile and effectively manage within an integrated team environment.
  • Proficiency in logistics systems ICT and the Microsoft Office (or similar) suite of products.

Engagement with stakeholders is an essential part of this position, which requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish strong working relationships. You will need to provide clear and concise written information to stakeholders and draft policy and procedure documents so high level written communication levels are required.
