About the Role
As Fitting Manager, you will lead a high-performance trade team, driving accountability, communication and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll manage day-to-day workflow, oversee safety and compliance and develop your team to operate at their best.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Development
Build and maintain a high performance culture focused on ownership, safety and quality.
Coach and mentor staff through regular feedback, SMART performance plans and structured reviews.
Lead from the front — set clear expectations and help your team rise to meet them.
Run weekly team meetings and toolbox talks that align the team around goals and behaviours.
Communication & Cross-Team Alignment
Be the key contact for fitting operations, resolving issues, answering questions and escalating where needed.
Liaise closely with operations, scheduling, QA and HR to ensure alignment across departments.
Ensure your team always understands what’s expected and why it matters.
Operational Execution
Manage production workflow to meet daily/weekly/monthly targets.
Tackle bottlenecks and challenges with proactive problem solving and process improvements.
Oversee machine and tool maintenance as per the scheduled maintenance plan.
Safety & Compliance
Promote and lead a safety first culture.
Lead by example during safety audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
Deliver weekly toolbox talks and safety training aligned with the site calendar.
What You’ll Bring
✅ Must-Haves:
5+ years’ leadership or supervisory experience in a mechanical trade or production setting.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead and lift team performance.
Sound understanding of safety systems, compliance and workshop operations.
A current and valid Australian driver’s licence.
Permanent right to work in Australia.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and workshop management systems.
🌟 Highly Regarded:
Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter).
Frontline management qualifications.
Experience with ERP systems (Pronto preferred).
HRWL (LF) and Working at Heights ticket.
