The Opportunity
*IMMEDIATE START* - ONBOARDING DAY AUGUST 11, 2025
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Claims Finance Officer to join our team and add a valuable contribution to our services and positive, collaborative staff environment. This critical role ensures accurate payroll processing for our support staff while managing NDIS claims and maintaining strict compliance with SCHADS Award requirements and NDIS regulations.

What You'll Do
Process weekly payroll for 50+ casual staff members ensuring SCHADS Award compliance
Verify shifts weekly for accurate timings, completed case notes, KM travel and compliance
Check and reconcile attendance records against service delivery documentation
Submit and manage NDIS claims through myplace provider portal
Identify, document, and resolve nonconformance and discrepancies
Maintain comprehensive financial records and reporting
Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, Fair Work regulations & SCHADS Award
Calculate wages including base rates, overtime, penalty rates, allowances, minimum engagement periods and loadings
Process leave entitlements, superannuation contributions, and tax obligations
Prepare and submit Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports to ATO
Generate payslips and maintain employee payroll records
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve payroll queries
Validate service delivery against participant plans and support agreements
Cross-reference timesheets with scheduled rosters and actual service delivery
Identify timing discrepancies and incomplete documentation
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Payroll processing experience, preferably in disability services or healthcare
Strong understanding of award wages, particularly SCHADS Award
Experience with NDIS claims processing and myplace provider portal
Proficiency in payroll software (Xero, MYOB, or similar)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Understanding of disability support worker roles and classifications
Strong ability to receive and act on constructive feedback
Solutions oriented mindset with high personal agency towards resolution
Highly Desirable:
NDIS sector experience and understanding of compliance requirements
Knowledge of Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting
Experience with shift verification, timesheet management, and attendance record reconciliation
