About Us

We are a registered NDIS and Child Safety services provider, deeply committed to delivering high-quality and personalised supports. As part of our dedication to the safety and wellbeing of the people we support, we recognise and uphold the Ten National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. These principles, among others, guide our policies, practices and culture to ensure safe, inclusive and empowering environments for everyone we support.

Compassion, Equality, Integrity, and Sustainability are the core values we live and work by, and are looking for these in the people, who choose to work with us.

About the role:

We are seeking part-time Senior Support Workers - Multiple positions available!

Senior Support Workers provide direct, trauma-informed care to children and young people in residential homes under Child Safety and NDIS frameworks. This role is designed for experienced workers who demonstrate competence, initiative, and consistency beyond entry-level care.

The Senior Support Worker will take on additional responsibilities in behavioural response, ensuring accuracy of documentation, informal team support, and operational problem-solving during shifts. While not formally supervising staff or leading shifts, this role supports safe, consistent care delivery and contributes to placement stability and service compliance.

What we are looking for:

We encourage applicants who are experienced in working with young people who have experienced trauma and/or disabilities or have transferable skills from roles supporting vulnerable individuals with challenging behaviours to apply.

We’re seeking compassionate people to care for young people with diverse support needs, including mental health and disabilities.

The ideal candidates will be open-minded, non-judgmental, and able to connect with young people of all gender identities and cultural backgrounds. You’ll help maintain consistent routines and boundaries in a safe, stable space while fostering positive relationships and personal growth.

These positions will require people to work days, evenings, some sleepovers and weekend work as the house is operational 24/7. It is an expectation that workers have good availability and are able to commit to at least one sleepover shift a week.

Please note: young people and participants in the home may change if a placement closes or a young person is moved.

What you'll do:

You will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including daily care delivery, behaviour response and incident support, documentation and records, and team support and practice guidance.

These responsibilities include:

Provide individualised support in line with case plans, behaviour support plans, and NDIS goals

Observe and respond to behavioural or emotional changes and escalate concerns promptly

Promote emotional regulation, routines, and relational safety through trauma informed practice

Recognise escalating behaviour and apply approved de-escalation strategies

Implement restrictive practices only where authorised and trained, and always report immediately

Accurately complete all required shift documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, medication charts, and behaviour data sheets

Maintain confidentiality and ensure records reflect actual events and actions taken

Informally support or “buddy” new or casual workers by explaining house routines, demonstrating safe and respectful care, supporting consistent practice

Raise concerns about unsafe practice or breaches to the House Manager promptly

Help maintain a positive team culture by modelling emotional maturity and reliability

Identify and report hazards, maintenance issues or WHS concerns

Escalate any incident involving child protection risk, missing persons, or restrictive practice use

Essential requirements

Minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, or equivalent

Minimum 12 months experience in Child Safety or NDIS residential care

Sound knowledge of trauma-informed practice and behaviour support

Proven capacity to respond calmly in high-pressure situations

High level of integrity, dependability and teamwork

Desirable experience & skills

Completion of TCI, or other restrictive practice training

Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children

Awareness of HSQF licensing or NDIS Quality & Safeguards compliance

Compliance requirements

Hold or are eligible to obtain an LCS check, blue card and yellow card. Current eligibility checks an advantage due to the urgency of this placement

Minimum P2 driver’s licence with no restrictions (reasonable adjustments will be made for stable medical conditions which allow the inherent requirements of the role to be performed)

Unrestricted work rights within Australia

Flexible to work over a 24/7 roster (ability to commit to 1 sleepover shift per week)
