Position 1 - Male Disability Support Worker- Yandina

We are seeking experience and qualified disability support worker to assist with a mature male with TBI, he lives independently with his dog.

Duties include working with the participant to access the community and improve on hobbies and fitness goals. The participant enjoys being in nature (i.e. fishing, boating, golf and walks) and is also great with fix it up projects. Assisting the participant with meal preparation, shopping, meal planning and keeping their home clean and tidy (vacuuming, mopping, laundry).

The ideal candidate would be charismatic, good with hands on tasks and able to keep a project on track.

Shifts available on Saturday, Sunday and Mondays.

Position 2 - Female Disability Support Worker – Mooloola Valley

We are seeking a resilient Female Disability Support Worker to assist a family with four children. A good understanding of autism spectrum disorder, implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans and using PECS communication is desirable.

Duties include – assistance with daily living skills, light home duties, assistance with school runs and getting to appointments.

Wednesday 10.30am to 6.00pm – may increase to other days

Position 3 - Male Disability Support Worker - Booroobin/ Maleny area

Seeking active, mature young male to mentor young teen on the autism spectrum who has recently returned to school environment. Support will be to connect in with the community and peers his age and to explore interests and hobbies and getting out of the house and away from gaming one afternoon per week.

Afternoon support- Pick up from school at 3pm and support until 7pm- Possibility of this being a Tuesday after school (local boxing classes run then).

Position 5 - Female Disability Support Worker – Buderim

Seeking a female disability support worker to assist a family with three children with before school and after school support. Duties include – assisting with getting the children up and ready for school (breakfasts, making lunches etc), school runs, attending appointments and after school care. The ideal candidate would like horses, music and nature, be gentle, reliable, have an understanding of autism spectrum disorder and enjoy working with children in a family home.

Various shift available during the week with additional shifts offered over school holidays and on the occasional weekend.

Position 5 – Female Disability Support Worker - Caboolture

Seeking an organised Female Disability support Worker Monday-Friday 4 hours in the afternoon 2:30pm-6:30pm. Duties - assist with school pick up, assist with dance classes, taekwondo, domestic duties, assist with school lunches and dinner preparation.

Position 6 – Female Disability Support Workers - Cootharaba

Seeking mature and experienced female disability support workers to join the team for a young female adult participant with challenging behaviours.

Participant lives with family on a small farm in Cootharaba. We require someone who is happy to support participant with light farm jobs including horse care, as well as daily household living tasks. Must also be willing to take participant out into the community for leisure activities, appointments, etc.

It is essential that the right person for this role will be confident, motivated, energetic and resilient. They must be willing to work alongside a behavioural practitioner and be a positive and reliable part of the support team. Experience with diabetes management a bonus.

Various day, afternoon and weekend shifts available. Occasional overnight shifts also available to provide respite.

Your duties with SCILL will vary greatly, depending on the person you are supporting, and will include lifestyle support, daily living support, community access, healthcare support etc.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Excellent communication and listening skills.

High level of initiative & great problem-solving skills.

Have demonstrated an ability to view people with disability as valued individuals with human rights.

Are committed to a person-centred approach.

Certificate in disability work, aged care or desire to obtain.

Smartphone with internet access and ability to send short reports as emails.

Current NDIS Worker Clearance (or be willing to obtain)

Current Working with Children’s Card (or be willing to obtain)

Current First Aid Certificate with CPR (or be willing to obtain)

National Police check obtained within the last 12 months.

Valid Queensland Driver licence and access to registered, insured vehicle.

Able to work in Australia with no restrictions on hours.

Can commit to the same time and days each week
