Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial and Property Lawyer with between 2 and 5 years P.A.E to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will possess strong legal acumen across a wide range of commercial and property transactions, with the capability to manage matters independently. Experience with Corporate Law is not essential but will be well regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Business Sales and Acquisitions (Australia-wide): end-to-end management of asset sale and purchase transactions

Share Sale and Purchase Transactions: end-to-end management of share sale and purchase transactions

Due Diligence: conducting and managing detailed due diligence processes in relation to business acquisitions; share purchases, real property transactions, management rights purchases. Including the preparation of due diligence reports and client advice following due diligence findings.

Commercial and Residential Property: advising on and executing commercial property acquisitions and sales, including drafting and reviewing Contracts of Sale and ancillary documents.

Leasing (Australia-wide): drafting and negotiating retail and commercial leases across all Australian jurisdictions. Including advising landlords and tenants on leasing obligations, renewals, and terminations.

Management Rights: experience advising on and managing the acquisition, sale, and ongoing operation of management rights businesses.

Corporate and General Commercial Work:

Providing advice and assistance on basic corporate matters, including company structuring, directors' duties, and regulatory compliance.

Drafting and reviewing a broad range of commercial contracts, such as service agreements, supply agreements, and confidentiality deeds.

Administrative & Support Duties:

Proficient in managing personal administrative responsibilities (e.g. time recording, file management, document formatting, and client correspondence).

Willingness to assist with administrative tasks for other team members when needed.

Key Skills and Experience

2-5 years P.A.E in a private practice or in-house legal environment.

Strong technical knowledge of commercial and property law across Australian jurisdictions.

High-level drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Excellent organisational and file management abilities, with strong attention to detail.

Confidence in working autonomously on complex matters as well as part of a collaborative team.

Sound understanding of commercial realities and a client-first approach.
