We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Admin person with Bookkeeping skills to join our team on a casual, part-time basis, working approximately 15 hours per week. This position offers flexible hours and the possibility to work from home on some days, making it especially suitable for parents or caregivers who are looking for work during school hours and wish to balance professional and family life.
The role is based in Phillip, Canberra, with the option to work remotely for part of the week. You will support a variety of clients across different industries, utilising cloud-based accounting and payroll platforms such as Xero, MYOB, and Quickbooks to manage their payroll and administrative needs. There is also the opportunity to take on additional bookkeeping work if you are interested. Training will be provided, so this is a great opportunity for candidates looking to develop or refresh their skills.
Key Responsibilities
· Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies
· Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring confidentiality across client accounts
· Managing onboarding and offboarding documentation and procedures for various organisations
· Handling employee leave, entitlements, and payroll queries
· Preparing payroll reports and assisting with year-end reconciliations
· Supporting general administrative duties including filing, data entry, and correspondence
· Liaising with management, staff, and clients to ensure smooth HR and payroll operations
· Optional: Taking on additional bookkeeping work for interested candidates
About You
· Previous experience in payroll processing and general administration is valued, and some training will be provided
· Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
· Willingness to learn new payroll and accounting software, especially Xero, MYOB, and Quickbooks
· Knowledge of employment and payroll legislation is advantageous
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team
· Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality
· Bookkeeping experience is a plus
