Salary: Between $45 and $53 per hour

Hours: 32 hours a week across 4 days Tuesday to Friday - Flexible for the right candidate, including the option for fewer hours

Location: Working from home

Job Summary:

Your main role will be in customer service, supporting the production team and senior client manager in delivering compliant payroll services. You will be responsible for managing workflow and ensuring quality:

Oversee the employee life cycle, including onboarding, contracts, rostering/time sheeting, payroll processing, and offboarding (Note: recruitment is not part of this role)

Ensure that Quality Control systems and procedures are maintained to support compliance with legal obligations and best practices in payroll

Investigate complex payroll issues, including new client payroll rescue work and the setup of new payroll systems

Be tech-savvy and efficient, able to set up and use various software systems

Support the team with payroll processing without direct reports

Process superannuation obligations and complete relevant reconciliations

What we're looking for:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar HR generalist or HR & payroll management role

Strong understanding of Australian employment laws, regulations, and best practices, including interpreting and applying Modern Awards and assisting others with interpretation

Proficiency with Employment Hero, Deputy, Xero Payroll, and HR information systems, including experience processing and reconciling superannuation, preparing EOFY Payroll Reconciliations, and completing Single Touch Payroll Finalisations

Strong background in salary packaging, long service leave entitlements across multiple jurisdictions, and workers' compensation processing

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement

Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work under pressure

Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands

Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or higher required

Technical/Experience Requirements:

High Quality Communication Skills

Karbon Experience (desirable)

Excellent Computer skills (Word, Excel)

Dual computer screens and dedicated desk setup required in a private workspace (Laptop will be provided)
