South Bird Hot Chicken is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations on a four-day working week schedule.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about fried chicken and southern US food, skilled in kitchen management, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. The menu for the business is fixed, the recipes are there, so essentially, we are looking someone with good kitchen management, to run the operations and administration of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

Menu Development: Collaborate with management to refine the existing menu.,

Food Preparation: Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including marinating, breading, frying, and seasoning chicken, as well as preparing side dishes and sauces according to established recipes and quality standards.

Kitchen Management: Efficiently manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper stock levels to minimize waste and ensure smooth daily operations.

Staff Training and Supervision: Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure adherence to recipes, proper food handling procedures, and safety protocols. Provide guidance and support to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of food products, equipment, and kitchen facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Customer Satisfaction: Consistently deliver high-quality food and service to meet and exceed customer expectations. Address customer feedback and resolve any issues or concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Menu Costing and Profitability: Monitor food costs, portion control, and kitchen expenses to maximize profitability while maintaining quality and portion sizes. Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.

Creativity and Innovation: Stay updated on food trends, industry developments, and customer preferences to continually innovate and enhance the fried chicken shop's menu offerings and overall dining experience.

Qualifications:

Qualifications as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in a similar fried chicken or casual dining establishment.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff to perform at their best.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.

Food safety certification and a thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.

Flexibility to work a four-day working week schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed.
