Located in Lathlain, Laika is well known for its specialty coffee and delicious seasonal Brunch offering. The Pop-Up Kitchen draws the weekend crowds, and the additional takeaway window set up ensures up to 1200 coffees per day are delivered promptly every time.

The team at Laika Coffee are energetic, dedicated and welcoming, ensuring a great experience for every customer. The venue trades 7 days per week; breakfast and lunch services. Some functions may require occasional evening shifts. Weekend availability is essential.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for smooth day-to-day operations, with support from a well-established team including a Head Barista and Assistant Venue Manager. The right candidate will have a passion for the industry, and love working in & leading a team. They will have an interest in driving creative innovation in a well-established venue and will bring a set of fresh eyes to operational procedures.

In this role, you will:

· Manage day-to-day operations, including end of day POS reconciliation and locking up of venue.

· Leading, training and guiding other team members during shift; being the point of call for dealing with any customer issues.

· Hiring and rostering of all FOH team members, within labour KPI’s.

· Ordering and management of stock, within ‘cost of goods’ KPI’s.

· Inbox management, including customer and supplier email correspondence.

· Working with the Kitchen team to ensure smooth rollout of new menus.

· Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and workplace safety standards.

· Drive guest satisfaction through service excellence.

· Assisting with barista duties if / when necessary.

What we’re looking for:

An experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will bring strong hospitality experience – ideally café-based – and a passion for guest satisfaction. This role is ideal for someone who leads from the floor and is confident managing a big venue with a large team. Notable barista experience will be highly favourable.
