We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to support end-to-end financial operations for our client based in Sydney CBD. You’ll play a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, tax compliance, and technical accounting, while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely month-end close, journals, and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in line with AASB standards
• Support tax compliance (IAS, BAS, FBT, income tax) across the group
• Maintain ledger accuracy through thorough reconciliations
• Oversee CAPEX tracking, fixed asset capitalisation, and reporting
• Contribute to cashflow management and treasury reporting
• Partner in internal/external audits, risk controls, and compliance
• Drive process improvement, automation, and data integrity
• Administer key finance systems (MS Dynamics, Power BI, Excel)
• Collaborate with and mentor junior team members, contributing to a positive team culture

About You

• CA/CPA qualified with strong experience in financial or management accounting
• Excellent knowledge of accounting standards (AASB, IFRS)
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Excel and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Jet Reports)
• Experience with MS Dynamics is highly valued
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Experience in the retail sector is a bonus
