We are seeking a dynamic Civil Construction Leading Hand to join our growing team of road construction professionals.

Location: Various construction sites across Toowoomba & QLD

Reports To: Construction Manager/Site Supervisor

Job Overview:

The Civil Construction Leading Hand will assist the Construction Manager/Site Supervisor in overseeing and coordinating the activities of the construction crew, including the allocation of tasks and resources. They will be responsible for ensuring that construction work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Construction Manager/Site Supervisor in planning and scheduling construction activities.

Coordinate the activities of the construction crew and assign tasks to team members.

Ensure that construction work is carried out safely and in compliance with relevant occupational health and safety regulations.

Monitor the progress of construction work and identify any issues or delays that may arise.

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that materials and equipment are delivered on time and to the required specifications.

Ensure that the construction site is kept clean and tidy, and that waste is disposed of appropriately.

Assist in the preparation of progress reports and other documentation as required.

Assist in the training and development of the construction crew, including the provision of guidance and feedback to team members.

Qualifications and Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in civil construction, with demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent.

Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and safe work practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.

A current driver's license.
