About the role
We are seeking a resilient, compassionate and experienced House Coordinator to join our team working with people with psychosocial challenges.
You will be working directly with participants who experience complex trauma, mental health challenges and learning difficulties. Sleep over shifts and some weekend work is a requirement. Your flexibility across a 24/7 roster will help provide consistent, holistic support for individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Support people living with psychosocial and physical challenges to build their capacity and work towards meeting their goals and aspirations.
Maintain positive, respectful relationships with participants, families and other health and support workers.
Lead and support a team of support workers within your allocated program.
Manage, respond to and calmly de-escalate emotive situations within the home.
Complete required reporting and record keeping and ensure all program documentation is up to date and accurate.
Understand and apply Behaviour Support Plans and assist other support workers in doing so.
About You
You enjoy relationship building and being a part of the journey with those in your care. Your approach is focused on respect, dignity and care. You are a mature mentor and great listener with a dedication to ensure people feel heard, valued and empowered.
You have previous experience as a team leader/manager or house coordinator role in Supported Independent Living or similar.
You're able to manage challenging and confronting behaviours in a calm and consistent manner.
You understand the need to provide culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people
You're interpersonal and communication enables sensitive and effective connection with a broad range of people, cultures and abilities
You have an understanding of trauma-based behaviours, trauma informed practice and therapeutic approaches
Requirements
Certificate IV in Community Service/Disability Services or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent experience in the disability/mental health sector.
Demonstrated experience in a team leader/manager or house coordinator role in Supported Independent Living or similar
Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current clear WWCC for paid employment
Current First Aid/CPR
