Are you ready to lead land care work and guide the next generation of Rangers? Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC) is looking for a Ranger Coordinator to join our Gobata Dja (Caring for Country) team. This role is perfect for someone who loves working outdoors, leading teams, and supporting Aboriginal led land management.
About the Role
Based at our Bostock site near Ballarat, the Ranger Coordinator leads a small team delivering on Country work across Wadawurrung Country. This includes cultural burning, weed and pest control, revegetation, and protecting cultural sites. You’ll mentor the team, plan fieldwork, and ensure safe, effective operations
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise day to day Ranger activities
Make sure fieldwork is safe, effective, and culturally respectful
Support and mentor team members on the job
Organise equipment, vehicles, and fieldwork logistics
Keep records, reports, and project updates
Work closely with other teams like Nursery and NRM
Help deliver fee for service and grant based projects
About You:
A tertiary qualification or relevant experience in land management, NRM, or environmental science
Experience running field programs (e.g., fire, revegetation, pest control)
Care deeply about Aboriginal leadership and Country
Can plan and deliver on ground projects while leading a team
Ability to prepare reports and complete administrative tasks to meet deadlines
Experience with reporting systems like MERIT desirable
A manual driver’s licence, enjoys being outdoors and working with your hands
