About the role

You will undertake activities requiring skills and experience in facilities and walking track maintenance, visitor engagement and other duties as required, such as natural resource management.
About the Team
We are a small hardworking team, based at Point Nepean and we divide the park functions between us, such as environmental protection, visitor facilities, heritage preservation, visitor access and community events. While we might own a task or project, we work together and across the larger Southern Peninsula Park Area to achieve our goals. As part of the community, we are most visible on weekend and summer patrols. Park presentation is important to us as we believe all visitors should enjoy and benefit from experiencing the natural, historic and cultural values of the parks. We work alongside a small Campground team who manage a seasonal pre-pitched camping experience. We lunch together in our staff room and look for dolphins swimming in Port Phillip or discuss the resident echidna population. The work is a complex balance between reactionary and planned works.
We're looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated practical skills in visitor facilities and asset maintenance.
- A trade certificate along with certificates for operation of skid steer, truck licences and experience with major and minor plant and equipment.
- A positive attitude and experience in park management, customer service and/or environmental work.
