The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced technician to own and operate the new Leica iCS50 kit (vPen, vTargets, vPole & iCON software). You will travel to sites across the Perth metro area to perform:
Foundation, grid and anchor-bolt set-out
Interior wall, service and Mechanical layouts
Digital templating for cabinetry, stone and steel components
As-built verification and QA reporting direct to BIM/CAD
Client hand-over documentation and point-cloud exports
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field measurement and layout using Leica iCS50 (one‑person operation)
Post‑process measurement data and generate DXF/PDF/BIM files and QA reports
Maintain equipment, perform calibrations, and manage software updates
Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and fabricators to coordinate measurement tasks
Mentor and upskill site crews in digital‑layout best practices
What You’ll Bring
3 + years operating robotic total stations or high-precision layout devices
Proficiency with Leica iCON, Trimble FieldLink, Topcon MAGNET—or ability to transfer skills quickly
Solid understanding of construction drawings & BIM/CAD workflows (AutoCAD, Revit or Tekla)
White Card, valid WA C-class driver’s licence, willingness to travel daily across metro sites
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
Excellent communication—you’ll be the “measurement expert” for multiple business units
Desirable: Surveying diploma, cabinet/steel trade background, UAV/laser-scanning exposure, or Cert. III/IV in Spatial Information Services
