An opportunity is available to join the Strategic Sourcing team as an Energy Analyst in our Melbourne office.

The Role

Many of our customers source their energy (electricity and gas) requirements through Procurement Australia. We require an energy analyst to support the energy category functions we provide to these customers. These functions cover energy contract tendering but also provide holistic energy solutions, products and new innovations.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for the following activities:

Financial analysis of energy (electricity and gas) offers

Liaison with Procurement Australia’s customers about upcoming energy tenders, including checking that contract and customer information is accurate

Maintaining up-to-date customer and site lists

Management of day-to-day customer queries

Educating our customers on Australian energy markets (training and support provided)

Furthermore, the opportunity exists to provide support on other energy solutions to meet the needs of our growing client base.

The Person

We are seeking someone with the following attributes:

Ability to work, and thrive, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines. This is crucial as energy procurement exercises have tight timeframes.

A high attention to detail

High levels of customer service – we are a member-based organisation, so keeping our customers satisfied is paramount

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders (suppliers and customers)

A high level of Excel skills, including nested formulas, lookups and conditional formulas

Ability and experience in working with large data sets, such as NEM-12 meter data

Energy industry experience preferred, either through energy retailers, energy consultants, energy brokers or other customer-interfacing energy organisations

Experience in energy procurement, tendering, pricing or operations preferred

An understanding of energy markets preferred, although in-house market training will be provided to the successful candidate if required
