The Opportunity

We’re seeking a proactive and analytical Energy Market Analyst to join our high-performing team. Reporting to the Head of Energy Markets, you’ll play a key role in market risk management, financial modelling, forecasting, and strategic decision-making as the energy sector evolves.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct market risk analysis and scenario modelling, including earnings at risk, value at risk, volumetric and stress testing

Develop and maintain risk models and market risk information systems

Prepare detailed reports and dashboards with actionable market insights

Support development of trading strategies within defined risk limits

Monitor and manage trading counterparty credit risk

Assist with negotiation of ISDA documentation and credit matters

Provide analytical support for finance, settlements, and business improvement projects

Collaborate on data migration and digital transformation initiatives

Engage with internal and external stakeholders (AEMO, regulators, management, board)

About You

Degree in Engineering, Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field

Strong experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and market analysis (Excel, Python, or similar)

Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills

Experience working with large datasets and reporting packages

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Positive, collaborative, and adaptable—comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Previous experience in the Australian energy sector (desirable, but not essential)
