My client is a respected force in Australia’s aluminium manufacturing sector, supplying a wide range of industrial and architectural aluminium products to fabricators, builders, resellers, wholesalers and design professionals. The Opportunity
This is a senior-level sales position, ideal for a Business Development Manager with a strong understanding of the aluminium or mild gauge steel industry, particularly sheet, coil, or plate products. Reporting to the NSW Sales Manager, you’ll be tasked with leading strategic business growth across the state, identifying emerging market opportunities, and building deep, value-driven relationships with key clients.

This role is well-suited to someone with a sharp commercial mind, strong market analysis capability, and the ability to move decisively on growth opportunities. It’s not a desk-bound role or a job for a passive account manager. This is a hands-on, results-focused position for a driven individual who thrives in competitive markets and enjoys developing strategies from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities across NSW industrial and construction markets

Use deep industry insight to guide pricing strategies, commercial planning, and long-term positioning

Engage directly with key stakeholders – including builders, fabricators, and architects – to understand project needs and deliver tailored solutions

Develop and implement actionable sales strategies that align with broader business goals

Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer behaviour to drive informed decision-making

Lead a small, high-performing sales team and instil a results-driven culture

Collaborate with technical, operations, and marketing teams to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery excellence

Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records, and activity reporting

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in business development within aluminium or steel (sheet, coil, or plate)

Strong commercial acumen and ability to build long-term client relationships

Experience in market analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

A self-starter with a proactive, energetic approach to sales

Leadership experience or ambition to step into a leadership role

Based in or able to cover NSW market – occasional regional travel required

Salay and Benefits

Base $115k - $130k | Super 12% | Company Car | Commission
