Reporting to the Lead - Events, the Event and Sponsorship Coordinator supports the delivery of the annual Major and Official Events programs. The position is responsible for coordinating partnerships for the major event calendar including sponsors, in-kind supporters and suppliers as well as the conduct of events and activations that support the Council’s strategic and business objectives and plans.
Position Description - Event and Sponsorship Coordinator
This is a 0.6 FTE position on a 2-year contract.
Key responsibilities include:
Support and participate in the Major Events program of Council, coordinating and executing safe and effective events
Build and develop relationships with current and new partners and sponsors and identify and facilitate opportunities for relationship expansion across the Major Events program
Identify new business opportunities with existing partners, develop activation plans for nominated sponsors that are mutually beneficial and continually assess service levels and management strategy in line with priorities and level of investment
Deliver official events, such as Council project openings and citizenship ceremonies
About you
Diploma in Event Management, Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent experience
Current Class C South Australian Driver's Licence
Hold a current DHS Working with Children check or be willing to obtain one
Demonstrated experience in:
Partnership, fundraising or sponsorship programs
Interpretation of customer needs, preparing and delivering proposals
Event coordination
Customer or community service
Project planning, implementation and evaluation
Management of key stakeholders
Ability to demonstrate:
Experience in developing and managing networks and building relationships
Strong skills in written and verbal communications
Strong skills in preparing presentations
Sound negotiation skills
Experience in contract management
Innovative thinking and a practical approach to problem solving and negotiation
Planning and prioritising skills and meeting competing deadlines
Using initiative and working with limited supervision
Personal integrity and ethics aligned to our Corporate Values

Salary range is between $91,908 to $98,028 (Full Time Equivalent) plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
