For over 30 years, Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) has partnered with industries involved in the delivery of essential services across Australia to keep construction workers and the community safe during excavation projects. We are a not-for-profit Member organisation comprising asset-owning and non-asset-owning members who support our vision of zero damage, zero harm, and zero disruption across Australia. We seek a skilled and enthusiastic Admin/Call Center Operator to join our team. This role combines administrative duties with customer service responsibilities, serving as a crucial link between our organisation and our members.

Qualifications & experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service or administrative role
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 CRM software and case management
  • Strong phone etiquette and active listening skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Basic technical troubleshooting abilities
  • Patience and empathy when dealing with members and the public

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, emails, and web enquiries professionally and efficiently
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate customer records
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendars
  • Provide administrative support to various departments
  • Handle basic troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to appropriate teams
  • Process customer requests, orders, and complaints
  • Generate reports and assist with documentation
