- Part Time (0.6 FTE), Fixed Term position until June 2026
- Based in Melbourne CBD, a hybrid model of working from home and in the office.

Why this role?
You will be responsible for leading the ADF’s work contributing to the evidence-base through the development of high-quality papers suitable for publication. You will be integral in synthesising and translating knowledge that will inform the ADF’s program and advocacy activities.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Lead the development and writing of high-quality papers suitable for publication to peer reviewed journals and grey literature informed by key data or evaluations of ADF work.
- Coordinate the ADFs plan to translate and mobilise knowledge to key stakeholders including at professional conferences. This includes writing submissions and consulting with key staff around the ADF’s presence at events.
- Support the implementation of quality assurance systems including the ADF Evidence Framework which highlights the evidence hierarchy for knowledge and information publications.
- Build the evidence-base and case for effective prevention levers including policy and legislation, educational, healthier and safer settings, community capacity building and development, and program and service orientation-based levers.
Who are we looking for?
We are keen to hear from dedicated researchers who bring excellent stakeholder engagement skills, along with a commitment to developing high-quality literature that supports the ADF’s culture and capability as an evidence-based organisation.
Experience and skills that will set you up for success in this role include:
- Postgraduate level (PhD, or clinical doctorate) in Health Promotion, Alcohol and Other Drug, Public Health, Knowledge Management, or equivalent extensive relevant experience in health promotion or a related discipline.
- Extensive demonstrated experience in the synthesis and summary of peer reviewed and grey literature into integrated findings in a systematic and transparent manner
- Demonstrated history of publications to peer reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated understanding of research and evaluation methodologies and frameworks relating to research and evidence including frameworks, strategies, and guidelines.
- Experience and understanding of research and evaluation methodologies, incorporating evidence and data driven insights into content for programs.
- Experience in developing significant research funding opportunities (i.e. MRFF & NH&MRC).
