Your next career opportunity
As a Lead Paediatric Clinical Teaching Fellow, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of paediatric education at the University of Melbourne. You'll have the opportunity to deliver high-quality clinical teaching, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in educational research. This role offers you the chance to enhance your skills as a medical educator while working with Australia's leading biomedical faculty and contributing to the excellence of the Melbourne Medical School.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver High-Quality Clinical Teaching: Conduct teaching sessions, facilitate simulations, and assess medical students in various formats including bedside teaching and clinical examinations.
  • Lead Educational Initiatives: Contribute to curriculum development, participate in research projects, and help coordinate key programs such as "Teaching as You Go" and the Clinical Paediatric Update.
  • Mentor and Support: Guide junior teaching fellows and provide mentorship to medical students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Engage in Professional Development: Participate in academic development activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Child and Adolescent Health program.

You may be a great fit if:
You are an enthusiastic and committed paediatrician with a passion for medical education, seeking to develop your skills as a clinical teacher and educational leader within an academic setting.

You may also:

  • Have completed postgraduate training (FRACP or equivalent) in an appropriate specialty.
  • Have prior experience as a Paediatric Clinical Teaching Fellow at RCH.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and students.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for clinical teaching and research in medical education.
  • Be enrolled in or have completed postgraduate training in Clinical Education.
  • Show the ability to work collaboratively in a team to achieve excellent educational outcomes.
