Lead Community Events That Make a Difference

We’re seeking an organised and proactive Community Events Coordinator to plan and deliver inclusive, engaging events that strengthen community connection and raise the profile of Interchange Shoalhaven.

This is a full-time, SCHADS Level 3 role based in Nowra. You’ll coordinate a range of community-facing events including expos, NAIDOC activities, taster sessions, open days, and grassroots campaigns — working alongside a creative and collaborative engagement team.

What you’ll do:

Coordinate logistics and delivery of events (venues, catering, signage, bump-in/out)

Maintain a centralised calendar of events and ensure smooth internal communication

Liaise with programs, support teams, and admin to coordinate staff and participant involvement

Work with our Visual Content Specialist and Community Engagement Specialist to ensure all materials are on-brand and accessible

Build relationships with councils, local groups, and event organisers

Identify new opportunities for community engagement and visibility

What you’ll bring:

Experience coordinating community events, programs, or similar initiatives

Excellent organisational skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders

Ability to take initiative and juggle competing priorities

Friendly, professional communication and strong team collaboration

Digital confidence (e.g. email, shared calendars, cloud-based docs)

Knowledge of or interest in the disability sector is highly regarded
