Stowaway is a neighbourhood bar in the heart of Freshwater, slinging Aussie pub classics with a North American twist. Think juicy burgers, proper schnitties, Sunday roast, and the kind of relaxed, welcoming vibe you want from your local.
We’re on the hunt for a Chef de Partie to join our small but tight-knit crew. You’ll be based mainly at Stowaway, but with some crossover into Harry Gatos — our fresh, fast-moving Asian diner next door. Two venues, one team, plenty of variety.

The Role:
You’ll run your own section, rotate through the grill, fryer, and prep stations, and help keep things ticking through a mix of classic pub fare and fun, international-inspired plates. Stowaway’s a local favourite, so we keep things consistent but never stale — menus evolve and so do we.
You’ll be working closely with a team of three to four in service, with prep shared across both venues. Harry Gatos might pull you in from time to time, but your home base is here at Stowaway.
You’ll Bring:
Solid kitchen experience — pub food a plus, but not essential
Clean, calm, and efficient work ethic
Ability to hold down a section and jump in where needed
Good attitude, good banter, and pride in your work
