Brimbank is continuously growing, with many transformational infrastructure projects about to break ground. A key focus of the coming years will be working with the State and Federal Governments to establish Melbourne Airport Rail; to complete redevelopment of Sunshine and Albion Stations; and the realisation of the Sunshine Precinct Masterplan which will Sunshine transformed into a CBD, vastly increasing local jobs, housing, businesses, services and tourism to provide for the many tens of thousands of people living, working and travelling through the Brimbank.

We are currently seeking a Part-time, Fixed Term Time staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.


The role

Reporting to the Coordinator, Risk and Assurance, we are seeking a Risk and Insurance Support Officer who can bring their skills and experience for:

  • Being responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Risk and Assurance Unit.
  • Providing administrative support to the Coordinator Risk and Assurance.
  • Maintain the intranet data for the Risk and Assurance Unit.
  • Undertaking special projects and duties as reasonably required from time to time by the Coordinator Risk and Assurance.

To be considered you will have:

  • Local government experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and related industry practices.
  • High level of computer literacy including Microsoft 365 applications and database systems.
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills, including time management, setting priorities and the ability to set goals and delivery outcomes with limited resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively and independently within a highly structured and complex workplace.
  • A tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in a relevant field desirable.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication abilities and skills, including the ability to liaise and communicate with all levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to work in accordance with Brimbank City Council's values and behaviours.
