About the role

An exciting opportunity exists with City of Greater Dandenong Council's Festival and Events team to join as a Festivals and Events Officer. You will be working on Greater Dandenong's award-winning events program and supporting different community and council events across the municipality. Working within a fast paced and deadline driven environment, you will have demonstrated experience in understanding all mechanisms of event planning and development in line with policy changes and strong stakeholder engagement. This position has an expectation on working some weekends and evenings on events.

About you

Reporting to the Coordinator Festivals and Events, you will:

· Successfully plan, coordinate, promote, deliver and evaluate Council-led festivals and events.

· Provide support and specialised advice to community, corporate, government agencies and internal Council Departments in the planning and delivery of their festivals and events.

· Build and maintain effective relationships with relevant key stakeholders to ensure flexible and responsive service to the community.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an 'international criminal history check'), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
