A popular sports business based in the West is seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager. You will be in a standalone position and reporting to the Head of Finance. This is an opportunity to take full ownership of the Payroll process and support with a system implementation

The role:

• Processing multiple pay runs for permanent and casual staff
• Fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles
• Onboarding new staff and processing terminations
• Super calculations
• Processing leave entitlements
• Answer payroll queries
• Posting payroll journals
• Creating process documentation

What we are looking for:

• You're highly organised with strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under pressure
• You work well independently but also thrive in a team-based environment where collaboration matters
• You demonstrate a high level of discretion and professionalism when dealing with confidential employee information
• You have strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy, particularly when performing payroll calculations and reconciliations
• You bring a minimum of 4 years' experience in processing payroll from start to finish, including managing time and attendance data and posting payroll journals
• You're confident using payroll software and are comfortable navigating digital systems to complete tasks efficiently
• You have a solid understanding of payroll-related legislation, including PAYG/PAYE, superannuation, payroll tax, and workers' compensation
• You can confidently interpret employment conditions outlined in relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and internal policies
• Experience with Employment Hero is highly desirable
