National Payroll Manager
Location: Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney (with flexible working arrangements; candidates in Melbourne or Brisbane may also be considered)
Salary: $100,000–$130,000 + superannuation (commensurate with experience)
About the Opportunity
FutureYou has exclusively partnered up with a leading Australian consultancy business to seek an experienced National Payroll Manager with HR Administration capabilities to join its Finance team. This is a standalone position, ideal for a confident professional who excels in end-to-end payroll processing and enjoys supporting HR functions.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll
- Manage full payroll function and serve as the primary contact for payroll matters
- Process and reconcile fortnightly and monthly payrolls (approx 200 employees)
- Manage salary adjustments, overtime, bonuses, and ad hoc payments
- Calculate and process termination and long service leave payments
- Ensure timely and compliant payroll tax submissions and reporting
- Conduct annual reconciliation and STP lodgement
- Assist with PAYG, workers compensation, superannuation, and other statutory payments
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Serve as system administrator for the HRIS platform (Employment Hero)
- Interpret and apply relevant Awards
Finance
- Prepare and process general ledger journals relating to payroll
- Complete monthly payroll-related reconciliations
- Generate monthly leave, headcount, and analytical reports
- Prepare management reports on staff movements and costs
Human Resources
- Create, edit, and format employment contracts via the HRIS platform
- Maintain and improve document templates and systems
- Support management of the employee lifecycle and performance review templates
- Draft pay review letters, bonus letters, and statements of service
- Prepare management reports for compliance audits
- Liaise with HR Administrators on return-to-work and other HR matters
About You
- 5+ years’ hands-on experience with end-to-end payroll for medium to large organisations
- Strong understanding of statutory and award compliance
- Proven ability to manage payroll operations independently
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Employment Hero highly regarded
- HR experience or qualifications highly valued
- Adaptable, with a strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks with precision and minimal supervision
