Haynes is seeking an experienced Projects/Contracts Manager for one of our valued clients in Pinkenba, Brisbane 4008. This is a temporary role offering the chance to lead and deliver critical capital projects that will directly impact operational performance.

THE ROLE

Lead and deliver key CAPEX improvement initiatives, collaborating closely with the Regional Operations Manager - Northern and the GM of Operations to ensure projects are completed on time and in full.

Work with management and service providers to implement defined project scopes and objectives, aligning outcomes with business priorities.

Prepare detailed project specifications and support tender evaluations, contractor selection, and procurement through QS and RFQ processes.

Conduct thorough due diligence when selecting suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.

Drive proactive risk management and promote a strong culture of safety across all project activities.

Oversee contractor performance onsite, ensuring adherence to WHSE requirements, site procedures, budgets, documentation, and reporting obligations.

Manage financial processes, including accurate and timely payments for capital equipment and services.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to optimise operational efficiency.

Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, outcomes, and escalate critical issues as needed.

Coordinate the procurement, ordering, and delivery of equipment to meet project timelines for warehouse expansions and upgrades.

Establish robust controls for managing project scope, quality, performance standards, and risks across multiple concurrent projects.

Monitor and allocate resources effectively to ensure maximum delivery outcomes for both construction and equipment-based projects.

Support continuous improvement efforts identified during equipment upgrades and warehouse enhancements, improving operational efficiency and cost management.

Maintain accurate, secure, and comprehensive records for all CAPEX projects and related operations.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (preferred)

PM certifications such as PMP or PRINCE II (desirable)

5-10 years' experience in complex project management, ideally in Operations or Construction

Strong WHSE knowledge and contractor management experience

Proven ability to manage multiple capital projects simultaneously

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills

Operational experience in production, logistics, or manufacturing would be advantageous
