We are seeking experienced Senior Project Managers to lead the delivery of building construction and upgrade projects within the Southeast Queensland Capital Works team of a large QLD Government department. This client-side role involves managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

About the Role:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring building projects are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest standards.

You will be responsible for project planning, procurement, construction management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Develop comprehensive project management plans, evaluate procurement and delivery methodologies, and apply risk and value management strategies with a focus on whole-of-life considerations.
• Consultant Engagement: Prepare project briefs, terms of reference, and tender documents for consultants; ensure designs meet project briefs, statutory requirements, and value-for-money principles.
• Contractor Management: Develop tender documents for both Design & Construct and fully documented contracts; oversee tender evaluations, contract administration, commissioning, and defect liability periods.
• Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders; prepare detailed project reports for management and clients.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to organisational policies, workplace health and safety standards, and maintain accurate project records and reporting systems.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in client-side project management for building construction and upgrade projects within government or similar construction backgrounds
• A tertiary qualification in construction, project management, or a related field is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standard contracts, procurement processes, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication and collaborative leadership skills.
• Ability to prepare tender documents, consultancy briefs, and project reports.
• A proactive approach to process improvement and achieving project efficiencies.
