empire group are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of building construction and upgrade projects within the Capital Works team across SEQ, for a large QLD Government Department.

About the Role:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring building projects are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest standards. You will be responsible for project planning, procurement, construction management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage building construction/upgrade projects from planning stages through to handover.
• Oversee design, contract administration, commissioning and defect liability management.
• Prepare comprehensive project management plans.
• Preparation of briefs and tender documentation (traditional and D&C contracts).
• Evaluate procurement methodologies and managing risk/value for money.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and juggle stakeholder priorities
• Oversee the commissioning, handover, and the defect liability period.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in client-side project management for building construction/upgrade projects.
• A tertiary qualification in construction, project management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standard contracts, procurement processes, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication and collaborative leadership skills.
• Experience in government or large construction/infrastructure organisation
• Ability to prepare tender documents, consultancy briefs, and project reports.
