The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Accounts Clerk who is looking for stability in their next role. Working in a finance team of five, your responsibilities will include trust accounting, accounts payable and receivable, data entry, bank reconciliation, and billing, liaising with both internal and external parties.

This role is well-suited to a proactive individual with exceptional attention to detail and knowledge of Australian Trust Regulations and preferably, a strong legal accounts background. Based in the CBD, there is flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week, once initial training has been completed.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Legal Accounts Manager your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Process trust and office account receipts, payments, and daily bank reconciliations
• Maintain trust accounting records
• Handle accounts receivable and payable, including creditor invoices and client disbursements
• Work collaboratively with legal teams on the billing of legal matters
• Prioritise and manage the firm’s busy accounts inbox

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• 4+ years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on legal trust accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and
  billing
• Knowledge of Trust Accounting procedures and guidelines
• Experience with legal practice management and billing systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
• High-level analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and productively with others
