Position Overview
We are thrilled to announce the opportunity for two Empowered Young Leaders (EYL) - Project Officers, one based in West Kimberley and the other in East Kimberley. As part of our Integrated Support Services team, you will play a pivotal role in the development and coordination of the Empowered Young Leaders network. Your work will focus on engaging young people under 35, fostering their leadership potential, and promoting social and emotional wellbeing across the Kimberley region.
This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with the EYL Aboriginal Corporation, local communities, and various stakeholders to implement impactful projects that empower young leaders. Your passion and creativity will be vital in driving initiatives that encourage youth participation and development.
Candidates We’re Looking For
We seek dynamic, motivated individuals who are ready to make a difference! If you’re passionate about youth work, community development, and Aboriginal health, this role is for you!
- A qualification or relevant experience in Youth Work, Aboriginal Health Work, Social Work, or Community Development.
- A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and experience working within Aboriginal communities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal young people.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the initiative to work independently and collaboratively.
- A current “C” class driver’s licence, National Police Clearance, and Working with Children Check.
- Willingness to travel within the Kimberley region.

While you will face diverse new challenges in the role, you will also enjoy an attractive base salary of $75,400 per annum pro rata and a further host of benefits, including:
- Accommodation Allowance of $13,000 per annum pro rata;
- 5 weeks annual leave (per annum pro-rata);
- Phone allowance of $50 per month;
- District allowance of $2,920 per annum pro rata;
- Electricity Allowance of $1,440 per annum pro rata;
- Annual Airfares to the value of $1,285 pa (after 12 months of employment);

About Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services
KAMSC (Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Council) is a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS), providing a collective voice for a network of member ACCHS from towns and remote communities across the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) was the first Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) established in the Kimberley in 1978, and was followed by the East Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service (EKAMS, in Kununurra) in 1984. The vision for a unified voice, to provide centralised resources and collective advocacy for the sector, achieved reality in 1986 with the establishment of KAMSC.
