The Role

This position is responsible for the co-ordination of a day program service which promotes and increases a community inclusive lifestyle for people with a disability. This includes:

• Managing and mentoring staff with the person-centred development implementation
• Review of individual plans in conjunction with relevant stakeholders
• Identifying, designing and implementing innovative day service options
• Co-ordinate client referrals and assessments
• Manage clients’ behaviours and ensure strategies are in place to reduce or minimise the risk to others including restrictive interventions.

Selection Criteria

To be successful in the role you will have significant proven leadership experience in the provision of day program services to people with a disability. In addition you will have the following:

• Relevant qualification of a minimum certificate 4 in community services (disability or similar).
• Diploma in Community Services or Similar - Disarable
• Be proficient in person centred planning and ensuring the service is NDIS ready
• A positive practice approach within a day program environment
• Excellent interpersonal, liaison, negotiation and influencing skills
• Experience working with clients with varying need
• A current First Aid & CPR Certificate,
• Working With Children Check,
• NDIS Worker Check Number
• Current Australian driver’s license
• Passport, Birth or Citizenship Certificate to validate current Australian work rights
• Willingness to complete National and International Police Check.
• Up to date COVID-19 vaccinations
